The Dream Team

Business by the Book® has set up a team of dedicated Christian business people who believe that Christians can and should conduct their business according to Biblical principles. Any conflict between business practices and Biblical principles isn't within the nature of business itself; it's within individual business people.

We believe that when God said he would make His people “the head and not the tail … above only and not beneath.. “ if we would listen to and action His commandments and do them …. He meant it! (Deuteronomy 28:13)

We believe that it is God who gives us power to get wealth so that He can establish His covenant with His people. (Deuteronomy 8:18)

This team of Christian business people is available to assist you and your business to achieve your potential for Him in the marketplace.

Keith Rushbrook

Keith was a partner in KPMG for 27 years, but his career was forever changed as a result of a sabbatical where he worked as a ‘creative’ in a branding agency alongside Mark di Somma on the branding and positioning of Vodafone and Tourism New Zealand.

Keith now works on a variety of assignments including at present acting as CEO for a very large social service agency which is re-inventing itself; Manager of the Accounting Standards Review Board; a director of the Corporate Trust Board of Perpetual Trust; and a director of a number of smaller companies.

He is not your usual accountant though and whilst he can more than hold his own in the world of debits and credits, is much more interested in the creative, right brain stuff.

Mark di Somma

Mark is a ‘pusher’ with the Audacity Group. He has an Honours degree in History and 20 years experience as a writer, strategist and thinker in the communication industries. He has played an active role in forging a range of brand strategies for companies such as Vodafone, KPMG, AMP and Tourism New Zealand, and has worked on a number of high-stakes pitches.

Mark is an original and lucid thinker who will take the tried and true and kick the complacency out of it. Mark recognises that even the most daring ideas in the most radical medium need to be underpinned by relentless logic.

Pekka Orpana

Pekka has had many years experience in Senior Management, having worked in most states in Australia before relocating to New Zealand. Along with his years of practical experience, he has a New Zealand MBA (and actually is a case study in one of the Management Textbooks at Massey University).

Pekka was the CEO for NZPM Ltd, which is the parent for a group of companies including Plumbing World and Patton Refrigeration. During the time of his leadership there, the group went through a significant transformation with all companies breaking previous records for a few years running and are now strategically placed to grow substantially over the next few years.

Pekka now specialises in Business Coaching in the areas of Strategic Planning; Change Management; Sales Growth Strategies and has Directorships on a number of company boards.

Mark Stolten

Mark was the former Chief Executive of Danfoss New Zealand Limited, a leading edge Technology Company that had three Divisions making up the company in New Zealand. He also led product development of the Mahana Blue Heat Pump into the New Zealand Dairy Industry. Having started his ‘working career’ as an engineering apprentice in the railways he completed his education with degrees in Mechanical/Electrical & Electronic Engineering and a MBA from Massey University.

In 2004 Mark gave up a promising executive future to start up his own consulting company in order to spend more quality time with his young family. He specialises in the area of advising companies on strategy and business plans, new product launches and creative thinking. Mark has also set up a company that is now creating educational games that will take the market by storm ..… watch this space!
